- Import and Map turns an analytics export into data you can analyse.
- First, pick your platform. These steps tell you where to download its analytics file.
- Then choose the file, or drop it here. I'll use the Instagram sample.
- The preview shows the first rows, exactly as they are in the file.
- Each column is matched to a metric. If one is wrong, change it here, or set it to not used.
- The checks list anything that couldn't be read, empty values and duplicates, with row numbers.
- Name the dataset and save it. It stays in this browser, ready for every tool.
How to use Import & Map
Reads an analytics export (CSV or Excel), recognises its columns for your platform, and checks dates, numbers, missing values and duplicates before anything is analysed.
- Choose the platform, then drop the file or use Choose a file. Not sure? BenchCove suggests the platform from the columns.
- Look at the preview: the first rows exactly as they are in the file.
- Check the column mapping. Each column shows what it is read as; change any that are wrong, or set it to Not used.
- Read the checks: unreadable dates or numbers, empty values and duplicates are listed with row numbers.
- Name the dataset and press Save and analyse. It is saved in this browser only.
