University & Academic Workbench
Draft assignments with AI, then study, reference and check them
The University & Academic Workbench helps students in any subject with assignments and exams. The AI Assignment Writer turns a title into a structured first draft; the other tools help you understand a brief and rubric, organise sources, format references, turn lecture notes into study guides and quizzes, plan revision, get feedback on a draft and plan projects and presentations. No tool invents references.
No sign-up. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works
Step 1
Draft with AI
Type the assignment title, choose the level, type and length, and the AI Assignment Writer writes a first draft with headings. Where evidence is needed it writes [Add source] instead of inventing a reference.
Step 2
Start from your own material
Paste or upload your assignment brief, rubric, lecture notes, sources or draft (.txt, .md, Word .docx or text-based PDF).
Step 3
Get structure, not answers
The tools find the requirements, criteria, definitions, methods and findings in your text and organise them. Nothing is invented: what isn't in your material is reported as missing.
Step 4
Practise and plan
Revise with flashcards and quizzes from your notes, and plan study sessions that never go over the time you say you have.
Step 5
Check and export
Check citations against your reference list and your draft against academic conventions, then copy or download the results.
What people use it for
Understand what an assignment really asks
See the command words, marking criteria and weights, word limit and deadline, with an outline and a timeline.
Organise a literature review
Compare the aims, methods, findings and limitations of your sources in one theme matrix.
Revise for exams
Turn lecture notes into a study guide, flashcards and practice quizzes, and plan revision around your exam dates.
Medicine, nursing and health-science study
Break medical terms into word parts and practise dosage-calculation exercises with worked steps, as educational exercises only.
Good to know
- Only the AI Assignment Writer uses AI (Google Gemini's free tier, or your browser's built-in AI). AI can make mistakes; drafts must be checked and completed by the student.
- The AI writer's free daily limit is shared by all visitors; when it is used up, try again later.
- No tool searches databases or checks facts.
- Nothing is looked up: references are formatted only from the details you enter, and missing details are listed, never filled in.
- There is no plagiarism or AI-detection score, and no grade is predicted or promised.
- Calculation practice uses fictional drugs and values for learning; it is not clinical guidance and must never be used for real patients.
- Scanned PDFs (pictures of text) can't be read; there is no OCR.
- Follow your institution's rules on using digital and AI tools in assessed work.
Questions
Can it write my assignment?
The AI Assignment Writer writes a structured first draft from your title, level and length, for free. It's a starting point: check the facts, add real sources where it says [Add source], make it your own and follow your institution's rules on AI.
Does it find sources or check references online?
No. It works only with the sources and details you add. It never invents papers, authors, DOIs or findings, and lists any reference detail that is missing.
Can medical and nursing students use it for drug calculations?
For practice only. The calculation exercises use fictional drugs and show every step and the rounding rule. They are not clinical decision support and give no patient-specific doses.
Is my work uploaded or stored?
Files are read in your browser and not uploaded. The AI writer sends your title and instructions to Google's Gemini AI to write the draft; nothing is stored by BenchCove. Your study plan, project plan and reference list are saved only in this browser.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no sign-up or account.
